Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

After updating my system, my OS will only output single sound at one time. For example, if I am watching flash video in a web page, the audio player and video player won't output any sound, if I play mp3, the flash video wouldn't sound either. I followed the instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure but stuck at the first step:

Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libasound2_1.0.25-1ubuntu10_amd64.deb /var/cache/apt/archives/libasound2_1.0.25-1ubuntu10_i386.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
