I am using Ubuntu 12.04 and I just bought AirTel 3G USB modem(HUAWEI technology). It's plug & play. I can access internet without any problems. But I am unable to access mass storage. How to access mass storage ?

EDIT:

I did

tail -f /var/log/syslog

as mentioned by Mordoc.

Here's the output http://pastebin.com/mAutT65b

It doesn't show anywhere that it has been mounted.

Did you check if your usb is mounted ? Can you see it in your desktop? Right click and try browsing the files. – bebojoor May 18 '12 at 6:27
No. It's not mounted. That's the problem. – Froyo May 18 '12 at 8:26
If you open up the file manager (Nautilus), it should be listed on the left hand side. Another approach would be to start the Disk Utility either by searching for disk in Dash or by entering the command palimpsest in a terminal window. It should show up as /dev/sdb and I believe Disk Utility will mount it for you if you tell it to. – irrational John May 19 '12 at 6:02
thanks. Disk Utility is showing it. but there's no option to mount it. and even nautilus is not showing it. Screenshot: i.imgur.com/H1olx.png i.imgur.com/vwRwj.png – Froyo May 23 '12 at 10:37

Another thought would be to run something like this in terminal before you plug in the USB adapter:

tail -f /var/log/syslog

You should see messages scrolling by that will tell you if the drive was mounted and if so what it was mounted as, for example something like /dev/sdb1.

I don't think it's mounted. I tried it. If you can help, here's the paste. pastebin.com/mAutT65b P.S. "Auto RR network" is my wifi connection. – Froyo May 18 '12 at 8:23
