Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I encountered the following problem. Every Unity session after certain (yet unknown) events such applications as GIMP and Java applets (javaws) start not occurring into dock. Consequently, there is no way to access them from GUI if one minimizes them. Once happened in a single session, these apps do not appear in a dock until reboot.

There are complaints from other Ubuntu users on linux.org.ru, so I guess this is a reproducible bug. Thus, I am asking whether someone experiences the same problem and if so, if he knows what exactly causes it so that bug could be properly reported.

P.S. Did I get it right that I should ask here before filling a bug via apport?

Welcome to askubuntu! In general, you should not ask about bugs here. You sometimes might want to ask for temporal work-arounds, though. Please see here the wiki on how to report a bug. – xubuntix May 14 '12 at 10:33
Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! This question should instead be filed as a bug report, and as such is off-topic, thanks! Instructions on filing a bug report are here. – fossfreedom May 14 '12 at 10:34
