Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

it seems several options for rhythmbox-client have been removed in the new version (see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672044).

So, my questions: - Why remove a really useful function? - Is there a replacement?

Thanks!

This has nothing to do with Ubuntu and is therefore mainly off-topic. You might want to ask the rhythmbox developers. As for the replacement: if you want to know what song is playing, why not look at the sound-indicator menu? – xubuntix May 14 '12 at 10:28
Of course I can look, I can even look at rhythmbox.. but I found it really useful to define a keyboard shortcut to show the playing song. I've written my own replacement, but that doesn't include the album art anymore, which would have been nice. – Jim May 14 '12 at 13:05
