I tried this but it doesn't work in my computer.

Thanks in advance.

In the mouse and touchpad settings, there's no touchpad tab. And there's no 'synaptic touchpad configuration' to install.

I installed 'tpconfig', but it didn't make any difference.

This is maybe a stupid question, but did you check, whether you have touchpad scrolling enabled in the touchpad preferences? (Just type "touchpad" in the dash - it should show up.) Also in your question you didn't include the links to the fixes you've already tried. –  Béné May 12 '12 at 20:42

The answers & comment above didn't work. in the mouse and touchpad settings, there's no touchpad tab. and there's no 'synaptic touchpad configuration' to install. i installed 'tpconfig', but it didn't make any difference. and there's a link in the question, for a solution i tried, but didn't work either. –  Kurt Kurtul May 13 '12 at 11:50
