Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When I play videos, whether they're avi, wmv, or mkv, the colors are not correct (all deep blues and browns). I have a feeling a need a specific driver for my built in video circuit (it's a Compaq CQ61) instead of the default basic driver that seems to be loaded. Where do I find such a driver and how do I install it. Thanks in advance.

Mike

Please try to add in more details since similar questions have been asked but the lack in detail makes me wonder if they are duplicates. Do you use VLC? Totem? Is it from a webite/flash? Have a look at askubuntu.com/questions/117127/flash-video-appears-blue and askubuntu.com/questions/906/ubuntu-and-vlc-make-default-and-hue Both of them have similar problems and include accepted answers :) –  Rinzwind May 9 '12 at 9:35
