Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

Not sure why this is happening, but a simple task, such as right-clicking on my desktop, and changing the background image, results in a successful image change followed by the application not closing and then crashing.

This has happened a few times and strikes me as too often.

Any idea what is happening?

EDIT: This is still happening after recent updates. Not every time, but intermittently. There doesn't seem to be a pattern.

Is it crashing just the application, or are you having X.org completely crash? When X.org crashes it places you back at Lightdm, and you have to type your password again. –  TechZilla May 7 '12 at 19:57
It's just that specific application that goes dark and then needs to be forced to quit. Everything else seems fine. –  Gonzoza May 7 '12 at 22:13
