Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 (32bit) and Chrome 18 and flashes doesn't work consistently. When I go on YouTube the audio works fine always, but the video is just a black screen. I have to refresh multiple times (6-10) to make the video appear.

What can i do to prevent this? i went from chrome 14 to 18 with the same problem, and have updated flash to version 11.2 r202 and the problem is still here.

Please let me know if there is any other information i need to provide to fix this solution.

Thanks

I had the same problem and I resolved it using, well, Firefox. I installed flash using the flash-aid addon. After that, the Chrome's flash worked perfect. – Marius Balaban Apr 23 '12 at 22:24
@MariusBalaban can you give a little more details on this – Ibu Apr 23 '12 at 22:30

I was referring to this addon link It's pretty straight forward to use. I've used the "Adobe Stable, from repositories" option and the beta. Both worked perfect. – Marius Balaban Apr 23 '12 at 22:36

this probably should be filed as a bug with Chrome, there's not much we can do to fix flash on chrome. – Jorge Castro Apr 23 '12 at 22:41
