I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 and I would like to see the boot menu when the system starts (by default it is hidden or the timeout=0)

I like using the grub customizer.

It can do what you want.

Install Grub Customizer

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install grub-customizer

This is a little bit old but I'm sure it will solve your problem.

These are the manual instructions if you're more geek.
