I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 with kernel 3.0.0-17-generic in an Asus U36S notebook. I need to stream two webcams (Logitech C510) simultaneously and in order to do that I need to connect each camera in a different USB bus due to the bandwidth limit of the USB buses. However I only have one USB2.0 bus and one USB3.0 available. With the USB 2.0 port everything runs ok. However, when I plug the webcam into the USB 3.0 port the camera is recognized and I can open a stream with VLC but the images are garbage. I did notice that the images get darker when I cover the camera and brighter when I uncover it. The camera has been tested in the USB 2.0 port and works ok. Any idea on how to solve the issue? :\ Btw I tested the camera in the USB3.0 port of an Asus Zenbook and it worked. However I think that the USB 3.0 controller is a different one. Thanks in advance!
