Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have to enter the password 2 times on this computer with Ubuntu 11.10 and other one too. I type the password, press enter and it came back to login screen again! If I select to not ask for password it doesn't matter, when gnome/unity is loaded and I start to use the computer it "resets" and change to login screen. I installed Ubuntu on this one yesterday. I have installed Burg (I think this have caused these problems.)

And the other problem is that the splash image at boot looks like text mode (no image, only text). I have tried with Super Boot Manager, the Plymouth options, but it doesn't work yet.

Thanks.

Please don't ask two questions in one. That makes it non-reusable, which is the purpose of this site. – Jo-Erlend Schinstad Mar 23 '12 at 16:29
