SO I am playing an mp4 video with H.264 encoding. When I run it ubuntu with Vlc exactly at one point the playback quality becomes really bad, and I can see squares, and the picture is very unclear. But when I play the same video in Windows, it works fine.

What gives?

Does this happens with all your files or just this one? Could be an codec issue... –  LnxSlck Mar 22 '12 at 12:52

You may wish to try playing it with Totem (the default "Movie Player") or mplayer to see if that helps. –  Adrian Mar 22 '12 at 14:23

It's happening only with this file. And it also happens in the movie player also. –  digvijay91 Apr 13 '12 at 15:24
