My ubuntu laptop crashed. The screen became tinted with blue. I could move the mouse but clicking did not result in actions occurring. I could not change to tty1,2,3,4,5, or 6.
I restarted the laptop, and was presented with a lot of apparently random graphical errors - some of which prevent me from determining if the machine has booted correctly. When I can progress to the login, when I log in the machine gets the same blue tint.
I ran memtest - it completed without errors.
I am also making a bootable USB, ready for whatever actions you nice people suggest!
album of errors with descriptions (note: graphical errors are sporadic, so the images are examples of what have occurred, but do not occur each time):
I can successfully login through tty1, but not through tty7.
I can login successfully if I do "sudo restart lightdm", then tty7
