I use a shared internet connection in hostel where there is a ban on using torrents(since it sucks speed), But still im sometimes desperate to use it, So, Is there any way to hide Torrents from installed applications menu in Dash(in case some random guy comes inspecting)?

You didn't mention the specific version or ubuntu you are using, so assuming In ubuntu 12.04, the privacy tab in the system settings allows you set rules for the logging activity on the system. Here you can exclude to keep track of bit-torrent application, which will serve the purpose. The
