I have a Dell Latitude C400 and I installed Xubuntu 11.10 for it to work (Windows XP too slow) and when I run it, it's marked with a Xubuntu wallpaper and all, the bar that advance and after that it can not run the office and it makes me a black screen and this is the last output I see:

* PulseAudio configured for per-user sessions
saned disabled; edit / default / saned
* Stopping anac (h) ronistic cron [OK]
* Checking battery state. . . [OK]

How to solve this problem?

(Sorry, I used Google translation for translate this message from French.)

[ OK ] Comment faire pour résoudre ce problème ou comment lancer le bureau, merci de m'aider. Antauf

I have 3 Dell C400s. I'm writing this on one. Because of the Intel video it needs a change to Grub. See

(If it is not heresy here, on "Ask Ubuntu", Crunchbang Linux (based on Debian Squeeze) works out-of-the-box without any change to Grub )

Whilst this may theoretically answer the question, it would be preferable to include the essential parts of the answer here, and provide the link for reference. – fossfreedom Feb 27 '12 at 11:38
