I have a Samsung NP-RV509-A0GIN laptop and LINUX UBUNTU 11.10 installed on it. all the Fn key combinations work except for the Fn+F9 i.e the wireless or the WLAN key.

I am not able to switch off my wireless port as the key is not working.

I can switch off the bluetooth from the bluetooth menu and disable wireless from the networking menu but this doesnt switch off the port. The indication light for wireless still keeps glowing. I tried many things but it is not working still.

Can anyone please help me out with the Fn+F9(WLAN) hotkey problem?

I also have a new Samsung RV509 and this Wi-fi Manager popping up drove me nuts whenever I was not using the WiFi. But i found the ridiculously simple solution...but one that is NOT obvious to a new owner...

Solution: Open the WiFi Manager by pressing Fn and F9; then click and hold on the green robot button while you slide your other finger to the left over the mousepad. This slides the green button to the left and turns it to a grey colour and switches off the WiFi Manager....

...and peace to us...
