I'm a novice in the Linux world. Windows 7 is my primary OS. Trying to run Ubuntu with Windows. Failed so far.

I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 in a second hard disk. I chose second hard disk's MBR to store boot record for Ubuntu. So /dev/sda contains Windows bootloader and /dev/sdb contains Ubuntu bootloader (I think).

The installation went without any problem. I restarted the PC and it booted to Windows.

I used EasyBCD to add a new entry for Ubuntu. Then I restarted the PC and an OS selection menu appeared.

I selected Ubuntu from the list. Instead of loading Ubuntu, the GRUB Command Line Interface appeared with a 'grub >' prompt.

Now, how to boot Ubuntu?
