My laptop is an HP DM3-1039. I installed Ubuntu 11.10 and everything works great except when I close the lid and it suspends then open the lid and resume, the touchpad goes crazy! It doesnt respond correctly and randomly clicks on stuff. I have gone through several forums but could not find anything, sometimes it recovers after a few minutes but usually I have to reboot. Any ideas what could be causing that? | ||||

For some hardware, Ubuntu and other linux distibutions don't do well with suspend or hibernate. The best thing to do before you set it to suspend is to research and see if the system you have, has any problems with suspending, and hibernating. It may be your system can hibernate fine, but not suspend very well. I suggest telling the system to hibernate instead of suspend, see how that does for you. | |||
