The version of libtiff4 that you are trying to install is no longer supported by Ubuntu, however newer versions of libtiff4 are available. A list of the versions of libtiff4 that are available for all versions of Ubuntu, sorted by Ubuntu release names, can be found here.

You can find the version of libtiff4 that matches your system by opening the Ubuntu Software Center and typing "libtiff4" in the search box.

In Ubuntu 14.04-20.04 the libtiff4 package has been replaced by libtiff5.

typedef enum { FALSE= 0, TRUE= 1 } boolean;

this does not work for me. however, this works:

//typedef enum { FALSE= 0, TRUE= 1 } boolean;
#define boolean bool

yup, ugly, but at least it compiles.

Just edit the file /usr/local/include/jmorecfg.h at line 263 and replace the space before the = sign.

Change

typedef enum { FALSE = 0, TRUE = 1 } boolean;

to

typedef enum { FALSE= 0, TRUE= 1 } boolean;
