I have installed VirtualBox through the software centre, but when I try to start a VM, I get the following error:
Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing
'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'
as root. If it is available in your distribution, you should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.
I already updated my dkms
and installed linux-headers
, but this /etc/init.d/vboxdrv
doesn't exist.
I have been googling but I can't find an answer.

. The doc has long winded instructions but the following link is a shorter read. If you ignore the part about HTTPS then it is brief. virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads
